Professor Bankey L. Dubey serves as President of the Somatic Inkblot Society (2012–2019 and 2024–present), Editor Emeritus of the SIS Journal of Projective Psychology & Mental Health (since 2006), and heads the SIS Internet Therapy Division.

He served as President of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IACP) in 1984 and 1985, shaping national clinical training standards and ethics. He is Director of the SIS Center in Anchorage, Alaska, and an elected Fellow of the Somatic Inkblot Society (FSIS).

A renowned author, clinical educator, and psychometrician, Dr. Dubey co-authored the seminal volume Inkblot Personality Test: Understanding the Unconscious Mind (SAGE Publications, 2019), widely recognized as the definitive contemporary textbook bridging somatic projective theory with empirical diagnostic protocols.

Over his distinguished career, Dr. Dubey has authored four reference books and approximately 170 peer-reviewed research papers. His empirical studies on projective response boundaries, combat trauma in military personnel, and cross-cultural somatic symbolism earned him six Best Research Paper Awards in the United States (1991, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008).

Dr. Dubey completed his Master's in Psychology in 1965 and completed 26 months of rigorous postgraduate training leading to the prestigious D.M.&S.P. at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore in 1968.

He earned his D.P.M. in 1975 and his Ph.D. in 1978, with doctoral research examining Indian Army personnel using projective inkblot techniques. In 1991, Dr. Dubey underwent specialized research collaboration and training under Dr. Wilfred A. Cassell, M.D. in the United States, cementing their international partnership.
