Diagnostic Indicators:
Before arriving on any diagnostic conclusion, consider the symptoms, case history, findings of psychological tests and other supporting factors. Many critics of Rorschach believe that diagnostic formulation on the basis of Rorschach indices must be confirmed by other measures (Dubey and Cassell, 2005). However, the diagnostic indicators collected from the findings of various studies are given ahead. As such it is difficult to say that how many indices from a group should be present to make a diagnosis.

Exner (2003) has also suggested the following Index helpful in diagnosing various clinical disorders.
Perceptual Thinking Index (PTI):
| β | XA% < .70 and WDA% < .75 |
|---|
β X-% > .29
| β | Level 2 > 2 and FAB2 > 0 |
|---|---|
| β | M -- > 1 OR X--% > .40 |
| β | R < 17 WSUM6 > 12 OR R > 16 and WSUM6 > 16 |
The XA% is the ratio of all Form Quality +, o, and u divided by the number of R. The WDA% is the sum of all Form Quality +, o, and u for W and D location responses only, divided by total R given to W and D locations.
Score 4: indicates disturbed cognitive processes, 5: Schizophrenic processes and 6: strong indicator of Schizophrenia.
DEPI (Depression Index):
| β | FV+VF+V > 0 OR FD > 2 |

| β | MOR > 2 OR 2x AB + Art + AY> 3 |
